Ivan Lopez –
This water bottle cage is extremely well designed and constructed. My water bottle sits secure even on the bumpiest roads. The design allows for adjustability by rotating the cage on its mounting rail in order to get the ideal position. Being right-handed, I have my bottle cage adjusted so that I can access my water bottle easier from the right. Those who are left-handed, can do the same by turning the cage towards the left. It is also possible to have the cage centered like any other traditional bottle cage position. I recommend this cage to everyone! Safe ride!
Ann M McLamb –
Does the cage come with one or two screws for mounting? I just got this from Campmor and it only has one screw? Defective or not? (I am not the biker, this is a gift I am giving.) Thanks. (I really cannot rate this until my question is answered.…)
Serfas –
Hi Ann – Perfect gift! It sounds like the cage you purchased is missing a screw, there are usually two screws holding it to the product card packaging for display purposes. The location where the cage will mount to on the bike frame should already be occupied by two mounting screws for the purpose of attaching a bottle cage or other frame accessory (and are usually higher quality screws than any packaging screws). Keren B Weaver –
There are no instruction on how to install the water bottle cage. Drill a hole in the frame? It requires a hex tool which I don’t have. Help.
Serfas –
Hi Keren, Most bike frames will already have pre-drilled and tapped accessory mounting locations for things like bottle cages. Mounting locations are typically found on the down tube or seat tube section of bike frame (the large angled section of frame going to the pedals and/or the larger lower section of frame beneath the saddle). The holes for these mounting locations are spaced at about 65mm on-center and will likely already have a standard 4mm Hex fastener screwed into each hole. A 4mm Hex Allen Key is needed to tighten and loosen Hex fasteners. In the event the bike frame you are trying to mount the bottle cage to does not have any existing mounting locations then we recommend taking the frame to a local bike shop to properly drill and tap accessory mounting holes into the frame. We hope this information helps you out! These are some of the most versatile cages around, mount simply with provided hardware, and allow for easy bottle access even on frames with limited space– like full suspension mountain bikes and ebikes!
